there's a mix competition on lets mix dot com. i wanna win some new headphones so i entered this downtempo set. get on there and give it 5 stars for me ok?
voicemail greetings are 99% lame. everyone says it needs to be professional.. that's true but only to a certain degree. i believe that more important than being professional is the need to express your personality. you've only got about 20 seconds to do so. might as well be dope right? if some potential employer calls and gets your voicemail and your greeting is lame it reflects on the fact that you might be equally lame. i have to put a little funk in my trunk:
i'll risk making it look like i'm trying too hard. at least i'll get a good message or two out of it. plus, i think at this point people have come to expect it from me.
trying to decide what to do for new year's eve? here's an idea: come to HOLLABRATION 4. there will be live music, DJing, cold PBR and lots of fun people to hang out with. it's at the Village Theatre (486 decatur st, atlanta) and it's only $15 to get in if you get your tickets in advance. it's not an exclusive thing so invite friends as long as they're cool and like having fun. flyer by dano... see you there.
in case i haven't mentioned it yet ... me and my boy jordan are working on some hand made screen printing. our idea is to do some funky designs for each of atlanta's different neighborhoods. since i'm so eastside we started with, of course, east atlanta. jordan did a pretty bang-up job with the design and the shirts look really good. we've got some in consignment at Trader's store in the EAV and on our webpage you can order 'em through paypal.
i've been meaning to do this for about 4 months. this is a 45 king remix of the Take 6 song spread love. i've had it on a "bozo meko" 12" since high school. i've always wanted a digital copy so i finally got around to getting it to an mp3. we used to sample this drum beat all the time back in the day. file this one under: classic hip-hop vinyl brought back to life through binary code.
british audio production magazine Future Music has put "flat shoals rider" on their dvd and reviewed the song in their latest issue. pretty cool to think of a bunch of people in london listening to a song about east atlanta... wonder if they'll get the buffalo china reference...
